Well, it’s about time for school to start again, and one thing parents need to start thinking about (in addition to school supplies and the sweet possibility of some peace and quiet, of course), is what type of snack to get for the kids. Fathers Day and Other Good Reasons to Buy Nuts!
Well folks, June is just full of reasons to buy almonds, pecans and cashews (preferably from us, of course!). First and foremost, of course, is Fathers Day (June 20th). Unless your Dad is allergic to nuts, then Sweet Almande has a really large selection of almonds, pecans and cashews just waiting for him. And given the really large number of flavors we have available, you should be able to find something that he’ll like. After all, in at least one respect, guys are easy to shop for. If it’s edible and they like it, they’re happy!

May 12th is National Limerick Day – And We Have a Contest!!
As we mentioned in last month’s newsletter, May 12th is National Limerick Day – and we have indeed decided to have a limerick contest to celebrate (after all, how can anyone resist such a classy and cultured form of poetry???). Since limericks are fun and irreverent (much like us!), please have fun with this.

In addition to whole almonds, pecans and cashews, Sweet Almande also roasts slivered almonds in most of our savory and spicy flavors. While whole almonds can certainly be used in a salad or in other things, (i.e. throw a bag of whole almonds into a bag of chex mix), the slivered almonds tend to be a bit easier on the teeth when used in salads, etc. Below are the different flavors available in the slivered almonds, and some of the favorite uses Sweet Almande’s customers have told Bruce and Beth about.
