Because of this, many of the small business vendors at the farmers markets banded together and rented space in a store at the Aspen Grove shopping center. It’s called “Christmas in the Rockies” and it’s located next to the Kirkland store at Aspen Grove.
We opened the weekend after Thanksgiving, and we’ve been going strong ever since. Thankfully, many people have turned out during the holiday shopping season to help support our small businesses, and it has made a huge difference to us all – possibly the difference between staying in business or closing up shop.
While the store was originally going to stay open just through December, things have gone well enough that we have decided to stay open through January. We will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the entire month, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day – so you can continue to support your local small businesses even though the holidays have passed! After all, we have any number of great products that are not just for gifts – there are all sorts of day-to-day food and snack items (like our nuts!), from Styria Bakeries great breads and some wonderful pastries, to Mountain Berry Farms and Brad B Jammin jams, jellies and preserve.
Our market also includes Rocky Mountain Rice with their different types of rice and olive oils, Dippies for some of the best dips and sauces around and Kogler’s Bakery for great quiches. Not to mention beautiful winter clothing and fashions from New Era, Shinkle Chic, and High Country Products. Plus there’s pottery, jewelry, soaps, candles, CBD oils for what ails you, and some amazing bath bombs, shower steamers and bath salts. All small businesses who did the Denver Metro Farmers Markets and banded together to try and stay afloat.
So if you want to drop by and check out all of the unusual and fun items available at the store, we would love to see you there. Buy some bread, pick up some almonds to snack on, and check out the clothing and other unique items available. We appreciate the support our community has given us more that you know, and we wish you all a very, very Happy and Safe New Year – and may it be far less crazy and strange than this one has been!
Thank you all!
Bruce Telford, Sweet Almande
